Southern to Begin Email Communication
In recent months, Southern has included a place on your utility bill that asks for your email address. We thought we should explain to you why this request now appears on your bill.
When issues arise that will impact your electric service or rates, we feel a sense of duty to do our best to inform you about those issues. In the near future, we will begin using email notifications to provide this type of information. We feel that email notes can be utilized to provide you a “heads up” of any planned power outages, updates on legislation that will impact electric service and rates, and more.
We want you to know that we do not plan to “bombard” you with emails, nor will we share your email address with any other organizations. We appreciate the trust you show us by providing an email address and it will only be used to provide useful information to our customers.
If you would like to provide your email address so you can receive valuable information about your electric service, just write your email address into your contact information when you mail this month’s payment.
