Bright Ideas Energy Camp Highlights
Seventeen children attended Southern Power District's 2008 session of Bright Ideas Energy Camp at Southern's offices in Grand Island. This year, we featured a lot of information on safety, energy efficiency, and as always, we had some fun while we learned!
The kids in attendance watched hotline and pole climbing demonstrations, and took turns proving their bravery with the bucket truck rides. To test their knowledge of electricity, the kids played a challenging game of "Energy Jeopardy".
In the afternoon, the Bright Ideas pack traveled to Aurora to visit the Edgerton Explorit Center. We watched two shows presented by Edgerton staff about energy and electricity. Both presentations were very exciting to watch with plenty of sparks and even a few “explosions”! The hands-on exhibits provided a great way to end a fun day.
