Introducing Home Energy Suite^TM



You have likely heard a lot of advice about what you should be doing to make your home as energy efficient as it can be. Have you ever found yourself wondering... “How much of a difference can changes really make”? If so, then log on to www.southernpd.com and check out the "Home Energy Suite". When you select the icon pictured above from the top of our home page, you will be on your way to seeing how both simple and significant changes can make a difference to your energy costs. One of the Home Energy Suite features is Interactive House that displays numerous ways to improve energy efficiency in every room in your house.

If you want to see how changes impact your bill, then you’ll want to try the Home Energy Calculator. By entering information about your home, such as square footage, number of occupants, heating source, water heater settings and more, you’ll see an estimate of your annual energy costs, which are actually based upon Southern’s most current rates. You can take it a step further by changing the data, and you’ll see how simple changes such as changing light bulbs or lowering the thermostat setting a few degrees can reduce your costs. You can also see for yourself the impact of making major changes, such as converting to a heat pump or replacing your inefficient refrigerator with an Energy Star refrigerator.
