SOUTHERN POWER DISTRICT TO DISPATCH
CONSTRUCTION CREW TO KANSAS
Southern Power District has dispatched its six-man construction crew to northeastern Kansas today, to provide assistance to Bluestem Electric Cooperative in the aftermath of the major ice storm occurring in that area. Bluestem’s offices are headquartered in Wamego, Kansas.
Although Southern Power District did not experience major outages with the recent storm, we will retain our regular area crews for now to continue full service to our customers in the event that outages do occur.
Scattered outages were most evident in Franklin County throughout the early morning hours today as ice accumulations caused minor damages. At this time, outages have been reduced to about 10 in Franklin County.
Southern encourages customers to call their local area office if outages occur, or 1-888-484-2470.
