Job Opening: President/CEO

Southern Public Power District is seeking qualified candidates to interview for the position of President/CEO. Candidates should have a successful career in public power in a management role and be able to demonstrate leadership in personnel management, finance, rates, budgeting, power supply, legislative action, customer relations as well as have a broad understanding of all elements of public utility operation. The district has a long history as a stand alone entity in power supply contracts, legislative activity, and other services more commonly provided by associations and contractors.

Southern is headquartered in Grand Island, Nebraska and serves approximately 26,000 customers with 7,000 miles of line. There is a good balance of industrial, commercial, irrigation and residential revenue that makes up the $80 million in annual revenue. The 7 county service area is located along I-80 and the Platte River containing some of best irrigated farm ground in the state. The district is currently in a strong financial position.
