Southern Power District High Efficiency Heat Pump Guidelines
The SPD guidelines will follow the Energy Wise Residential High Efficiency Heat Pump Guidelines with the following exceptions:
- Southern Power District heat incentives only apply to conversions and upgrades. New homes no longer qualify under Southern Power District's heat incentive program.
- New homes will qualify under NPPD's High Efficiency Heat Pump Program.
- The Marathon Water Heater will no longer be offered as part of Southern Power District's heat incentive program. The Marathon Water Heater, under a new program, will be available for converting from a fossil-fueled water heater to an electric one.
- Customer may qualify for the NPPD incentive and SPD water heater program if installing a heat pump and converting a fossil-fueled water heater (service charges may apply). Contact Sam Reinke for more information, 800-579-3019.
- Southern Power District does not offer an incentive for other heat pump verification test. This incentive is only offered by NPPD.
- No incentive will be paid without the completion of the application form, which requires that a performance verification be conducted on the system. The application form must be signed by both the homeowner and dealer.
