Holdrege Area Manager Terry Bloomfield Retires

Would you like to send a note of well-wishes to Terry? If so, feel free send your note to the webmaster.

January 31, 2008 was officially the last day for Holdrege Area Manager Terry Bloomfield. After nearly 43 years working in various capacities for the District, Terry has now officially retired. Terry began working for Southern on March 15, 1965 as a construction lineman. He was promoted on numerous occasions in the following years, first to the position of “Leadman” in June of 1976. He was appointed as the Holdrege Maintenance Supervisor in February, 1995 and also served as Maintenance Supervisor for the Franklin Service Area. In early 2002, Terry was promoted to serve as the Area Manager for the Holdrege and Franklin service areas.

Southern's President/CEO says that he has known Terry for many years, working with him first as a lineman in Minden and then an Area Maintenance Supervisor in Franklin and Holdrege. “Terry served the district well during the ice storm when the majority of our customers in Phelps, Franklin and Kearney Counties lost power and some for an extended period of time. The task of restoration was enormous and included as many as 200 additional contract employees he had to supervise during the restoration process. I think Terry's years of experience will be missed--I do appreciate his leadership over the many years he worked for the district.”

We wish Terry the best as he begins his retirement, and thank you for nearly 43 years of service!
